WEAPONRY
• Ganjiang & Moye :: A beautiful pair of Chinese falchions, they were christened after a legendary swordsmith couple who forged the swords upon the request of a despotic emperor, under threat of death. These same swords were then inherited by the couple's only son, and were used to exact his blood-soaked vengeance against the emperor.
Both blades are fixed and fastened to oak wood mountings that have been lacquered, carved, and polished, while the grips are wrapped in supple black leather strips. Ganjiang is engraved with red hexagonal markings and is as black as the midnight sky, whilst Moye appears hazy as mist and is white as fresh winter snow. Otherwise, the swords are physically identical in every way.
Masamune can conjure and dismiss Ganjiang and Moye in and out of existence as he desires; all he need do is open his hands and they simply materialize into being. Like any Adept Rogue, he may alter their shape and form depending on the skills he utilizes in battle. Aside from their default form – the twin falchions – the married swords may take on two other modes. It may be possible for it to achieve other shapes as well, but this has yet to be seen.
Masamune can merge the swords together to create a Japanese katana slightly over standard length; the typical armament of a Blademaster. The silver blade emits a continuous shimmer in ample lighting, and a gorgeous, flame-like pattern can be seen running along its length. The tsuba is styled like the classic Taoist taijitu symbol, staying true to the theme of yin and yang. The tsuka is dressed in supple black leather wrappings. Attached to the butt cap of the sword are a pair of small tassels, black and white.
It is also possible for Masamune to conjure an oversized version of the aforementioned katana as well, befitting the Heavy Blade class, which boasts dimensions slightly greater than that of a Japanese nodachi sword. As expected of such a massive weapon, he must use both hands to swing the blade with full efficiency.
