Δ SLEEPY SMILING PARADISEUpon gating into this field, one finds themselves in a pitch black field in the midst of a torrential downpour, facing the entrance to a dark, subterranean cave. The cave is lit by what appears to be some form of bioluminescent element behind translucent black stone, so visibility in the cave is adequate, but the stone floor is slippery. By the time one reaches the lowest level, one finds remnants of strange machines, some pristine in form and (unknown) function, some rusted and broken. Large, level plateaus, elevated walkways, and spirals of stone, glass, and steel reach high toward the roof of the cave, where a bright, blue-green glow lights the lowest section of the cave in full. Shin-deep water pools from wall to wall, with enough electric current running through it to give quite the hefty jolt, and is the primary hazard in the area, especially with nearly all standing surfaces being slick with water and mold.
The monsters inhabiting the area are Ani types, though there aren't many to speak of. The vast majority are Odoro, with the occasional Shining Eyes guarding the most impressive portions of the landscape. Not many players bother to venture here more than once, as the monsters are weak, no one has found any treasure to speak of, and the terrain is generally too tricky to be considered for an ambient stroll.

...Disappointing. This was Zipper's first thought upon gating into the area. Looking through the available keywords, "Sleepy Smiling Paradise" sounded RIGHT up her alley, especially after her first few misadventures into areas that turned out to be fairly above her skill level (and occupied with all manner of less-than-friendly beasties), earlier in the day. Instead, she was faced with quite possibly the most unpleasant surprise so far -- standing in a near-zero visibility area with sheets of rain pounding at her, as if to drive her away. A rare, full frown darkened her expression as she trudged forward through the mud at the sight of the cave entrance ahead.
Blessed cover from damnable weather. The chance to step out of the rain improved her mood, but only so much. She was still soaked to the bone, a swift reminder that The World did allow you to feel a good measure of whatever sensations you ended up subject to... which, at the moment, were 'cold' and 'damp'. Still...
"Already here. May as well."
And with this, Zipper descended down into the cave's depths. The marvel of flowing light behind see-through walls helped to distract her from her discomfort, though she did momentarily wonder whether wet, heavy clothing hampered one's movement in The World as much as it would outside the game.

A bit of exploration later and, suddenly, Zipper was able to determine that, yes, wet clothing definitely pulls one downward. Especially when they slip on wet stone. Downward onto their butt. And shooting through cavernous passages like slides at a water park. It would almost be fun. If not for the frightening uncertainty as to what was at the bottom.
With some luck (and a bit of uncharacteristic scrambling), her descent slows enough to provide an opportunity to rise to her feet and bring herself to a stop. It's then that she's able to catch her breath and look around.
"Haah... woooow." Spiral spires, gentle waterfalls, bridging walkways, and the gentle glow of soft light all around. Even some metallic curiosities to draw the imagination. She looks down at her dripping wet gear, then back up at the view. "Worth it. Completely."
Still, this didn't make things any more comfortable. Something HAD to be done.
She steps off to a spot that appears distant from anything particularly unfriendly, and seats herself upon a ...platform? Stepping stone? Whatever these glowing pads are meant to be, and takes her hair down. It immediately sticks to her neck and back in uncomfortable curtains.
"...ugh. Just HAD to go with the extra long hair. Oh well."
Zipper removes her gloves, sets them and her leather hair tie beside her. Next, off come the scarf, capelet, and jacket, wadded up into a wet mess and tossed unceremoniously onto the next step in front of her.
It becomes apparent just how slight her form is, as some of the billowy layers come off. Amazing how much a few extra layers can serve to make someone so short and slim look battle-ready. Football-padding syndrome at work.
With a stretch and a sigh, she begins wringing out her hair... a process which will likely take awhile, though she seems in no particular rush. Peculiar, perhaps, that someone would perform maintenance on their in-game character in the same fashion as they might in real life.

[style=height:365;width:310;overflow:auto;padding:10px;text-align:justify;margin-top:90px;margin-bottom:10px;margin-left:20px;]The red-headed player had an affinity for fire - so being soaked to the bone wasn't something that he very much appreciated. His eyes were narrowed, his expression was all but sneering... the bloody hell did he end up in such a place. He guessed that it was his fault, the keywords were sullen enough to sound like rain. But this downpour? Good grief he could complain for hours - but for now he would settle for just finding the dungeon. He had chosen longer hair for his character - but it was nothing compared to some styles. That didn't stop it from sticking to his face and the back of his neck, being an overall nuisance. "Che." Grabbing a handful of his hair he began to wring it out once he was inside of the cave. When he was satisfied with that much he raised his head, giving the glowing darkness a better look.
It looked easy enough to maneuver as long as he watched his step. It seemed that he wouldn't be fighting just yet - so he seemed relaxed enough. A hand rested on his blade just in case, but the passage was linear for now. It would be hard to catch him by surprise. His armor wasn't nearly as heavy as some other classes, but it was new, because he was new to the game... while it was wet, it was quite the hindrance but there was nothing that he could do but wait until it dried out... at least, that was where he thought the common train of thought would lead... Catty green eyes fell on the strange girl - half stripped and wringing out her long blue hair. "It seems like I wasn't the only one caught in the downpour." His lips curved into a relatively friendly smirk. Really, it was up to the interpreter what sort of appearance Incendi held.
Standing in front of her, he wondered whether he could make a temporary party member out of her. She looked like she was sturdy enough when she was fully clothed... and as he wasn't sure of the level that the monsters here held, he could use some help. "You know, if you're tackling this field on your own, I could help..." An offer that was generous enough - but like anyone else playing this MMO he wasn't without his ulterior motives. "I'm Incendi - want to party up?" It wouldn't be for long after all.

"Nn..." A simple but ambiguous response to Incendi's unexpected appearance. It took a moment, but she continued. "No way to get dry. Practically. Maybe." She paused to look up at him, a smile of amusement slowly spreading across her lips. "Not a Wavemaster? You could have had a job. Good blow dryer. Probably not many."
...what? There was obviously a thread stringing the girl's thoughts together, but it frayed significantly when conveying them verbally. It was tough to tell, with her manner of speaking -- was she suggesting you start an in-game salon?
She stood, still dripping a bit at the tips but looking much less like she'd just opted for a fully clothed swim than she did some time ago. Luckily, she'd had time to squeeze out her top a bit, as well, lest she start a wet t-shirt trend.
Zipper looked down in dismay at the various articles of clothing strewn about the ground around her. She was clearly reluctant to get back into them. They may not be quite as soaked anymore, but they were still slightly damp. And cold. Nevertheless, she re-geared herself once more, doing so manually rather than through menu selections. Curious.
"Tackling. Hmm..." She hit upon this word and thought for a moment. "So violent. Or maybe not. Tackles can be fun, too, maybe." Yet another pause for thought before slowly approaching Incendi. Then, all at once, Zipper 'tackles' him. Of course, this is Zipper... her 'leaping tackle' ends up consisting of something between a chest bump and a hug, with an extra little hop somewhere in the middle. There's a distinct squish of water, and her gear gains back a bit of the moisture she fought so hard to get rid of, earlier. Definitely an odd duck, this one.
"...yes. Decidedly fun. We will funtackle things." Her gaze scans the immediately visible area. "Maybe. Not many things for tackling. Very quiet. Good quiet. Empty, though. Oh, well. Let's go!" Zipper smiles warmly, clapping Incendi on the shoulder before spinning on her heel and proceeding lazily forward in an apparently random direction.

[style=height:365;width:310;overflow:auto;padding:10px;text-align:justify;margin-top:90px;margin-bottom:10px;margin-left:20px;]The little sound that escaped her mouth definitely wasn't a greeting. But that was alright, the red head was used to running into the less than social types. Outside of the game, he wasn't the most extroverted of people. She had been trying to get dry - he could see that. He could also see that her attempt hadn't gone so well... she was finally noticing that, hm? Although she looked at him after assuming she couldn't get dry in a normal way. He... did look like a firebug didn't he? Smirking, he shook his head. "A wavemaster, huh? It was a thought, but I make a better rogue." Jack of all trades and all. He could always pick up a magic scroll later... He hoped that was what she was trying to say - or, well, part of it. A strange girl, her words and mannerisms were hard to keep up with, and there was that part of him that wondered if he was assuming right or if his train of thought had taken a whole different approach to what she had to say.
When she stood up, she looked a little less sopping wet, like Incendi currently did, and more like she forgot to stick her clothes in the dryer after washing them. "They'll dry as we go." He shrugged as she put her gear back on. Meaning to say she slipped, tugged and tied each piece of her gear on opposed to having it appear on her the way that most did when using the menu. Needless to say, it took a bit longer the way that she chose to do it. When he asked his question, he wasn't aware that the way that he worded things should have been taken into consideration. She seemed to think about forming a party with him, before tackling him. Just as he could feel the wetness from the rain, he could feel this girl leech to him for a moment. Pulling back, she seemed to decide on a few things. One, that tackles were indeed something she enjoyed giving out. Two, that she would join Incendi while they were both in this field.
A bit taken aback by this girl as a whole, he laughed after she clapped him on the back. If she was going to be friendly, entertaining and helpful then he didn't mind if she stuck around for a while. He was too new at this game to be picky with the help anyways. Her smile was met with a grin - and Incendi followed after her. The area was quiet, she was right. At this rate, there wouldn't be anything waiting for them at the end of the dungeon - but the red head would keep his hopes up. Better he start out somewhere that was a little too easy than too hard. Drawing his rapier, the weapon spews a few embers that fade immediately after being emitted. It might have been quiet, but it could be too quiet - and Incendi didn't much appreciate being sneaked up on.
OOC: sweet! Thanks (: Words: 500+ Muse: Great! The area theme made it easier to write~ Tagged: Zipper!

"I wonder if Wavemasters... ever catch fire." The stray comment didn't sound malicious. More like something one would expect to hear from a child. Random, mental acrobatics which, in minutes' time, would be forgotten. "Too many robes. Sometimes. But it works in the circus. Usually. Maybe there's a trick." She giggles. "Perhaps, then, it truly is magic." No telling, really, whether this was her effort to make conversation, or whether it was Zipper talking to herself. Either way, it was business as usual.
"Dry as we go..." Zipper mirrored Incendi's comment in a curious fashion. For a long moment, she was silent as she pondered it. "Go where?" It was a sudden question, but a good one. There were obvious answers -- Deeper! Toward treasure! To battle monsters! Exploring! -- but none that came to her mind which provided any clarity. Even in a new library, one could ferret out the desired section eventually. But in a brand new place with no concept of what may or may not exist there, what does one search for?
Then, another stray comment and action, disjointed from anything else so far. She stopped cold, sniffed at various parts of her gear, and frowned slightly. "I hope it doesn't start to stink." ...Surely that thought came from somewhere...?
The pause served an unintended purpose as well, though. Just beyond the next large pool and only slightly obscured by another rocky outcropping was a noticeable change in the scenery. The stone flooring ahead was risen a bit, clear of water. It was also rather ornate, especially compared to the other scads of rock in the area. Carved into the center of the large platform was a curious and almost equally large ring. A full party of individuals could easily stand within it. They would need to watch their step, however... many narrow holes lined the inside of the ring, equally spaced apart. Moving inward, another raised ring with more holes just inside. The pattern continued inward, stopping with enough space for a rectangular stone in the center, colored a bit lighter than the rest of the stone making up the curious ...altar? Trap? Device?
Zipper had yet to notice any of this, tugging at and searching for malodorous traces in her capelet. "Ick... sulfurish. Maybe." She pauses, blinks, then cautiously nibbles at the garment. "...chalky." Yup. Definitely distracted.
