SUMMARY it is a good viewpoint to see the world as a dream.... [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,10,true][cs=2][atrb=style, width: 400px; border-top: 7px solid #985254; border-bottom: 7px solid #985254;, bTable; ][atrb=style, padding: -5px; height: 400px;] [style=height: 450px; padding-right: 10px; overflow: auto;] Akujiki is a work in progress. The player is driven by a need to excel; not for purposes of competition but due to a desire to know that he is capable of meeting the challenges that he will eventually encounter.
As such he has an air of the classical samurai on his quest for self-realization and the perfection of his technique. Akujiki believes in growth through adversity and attempts to find the fine line of pushing himself to new limits while being mindful of his current limitations. You know like storming an end game dungeon as a level one. Ya. Not happening.
Because of that you might say that he is an end gamer in the making. However, the means to this end are sometimes unorthodox. For example, he plays with the mindset that equipment is secondary to the character themselves. As a tool, it should be upgraded when necessary but that the skill of the user themselves is what truly counts. Because of this he is an almost pedantic trainer and his own worst critic. While he does not hold others to his standards, he holds himself firmly to his own.
His PvP is active, but not for purposes of hunting. Player killers are just another challenge to be met, another adversary to overcome in his desire to become the best he can be. Despite his own driven play-style he is a staunch defender of a player's right to enjoy the World on their own terms. In this way it will not be uncommon to find him defending lower level players from "gankers" because he feels it infringes on someone's right to play freely.
Friends and enemies are not a static thing in his mind. A friend one day could become an enemy the next and an enemy could become a friend; it all depends on the circumstances that they come into. Because of this he attempts to treat both with an equal level of respect. oh boy, orchid'd love this guyyy.
his noble disposition is really just the kind of thing that she preys on. he's the kind of guys that orchid really wants to pk because he comes off as so deathly serious, and so heroic in a dangerous kind of way.
yeah. it'd make her so happy to kill him. multiple times. ♥

Already you are becoming the Gary to my Ash and I intend to keep it that way. Except you know, without the pokemon, and without the 8-bits features. Every would-be endgamer needs that one Friend that spurs her on to keep leveling and trying harder. Congratulations, you are it!
Murmur will keep comparing herself to you silently and keep pushing herself to be better than you. If you pull ahead in EXP or knowledge, it will drive her insane (in a very silent and hardly observable way - just check her journals for the reality). The more she likes you the more conflicted she will become about this. This all just gives me a big:

Sounds like fun! I'm never one to deny a lady what she wants. He's not always serious, but his humour is very dry. He also believes that if a gamer is paying for the services of a game they should be free to enjoy it in whatever way they see fit. Sometimes that comes to a clash of views; so for people who enjoy pking? He's there to give them someone to play with. He knows he's made himself a perfect target; he made himself counter bait on purpose.

I love the concept of the friendly rival, that other person who's there to keep pushing the bar just a little bit higher. I think they'd be a really good pair in that way. Murmur definitely seems the sort to never let him rest on his laurels. This is going to be a fun dynamic, I can tell. He'll just lurk Murmur's journal to see what she really thinks of him like the bastid he is.
