Δ Forgotten Flow BlazeThe forest is constantly burning down. Although the flames will never devour the entire forest, they can still burn players. The Vak-type monsters in this area aggressively seek out players who gate into the field. Players arrive in the field next to a stream that runs through the entire forest. There further a player advances into the flames, the stronger the monsters will get.

k2 thought he liked the heat, but the sweat that was running down his temples and off of his chin made him consider it twice. He held his bamboo staff across his upper back with both of his arms laced between it. Even though k2 was in his usual outfit, he was wondering if he needed to abandon even more clothes to help stay cooler. He had not even proceeded into the fire. Instead, he had found that sitting in the stream where the water was cooler was much more relaxing. He had yet to be engaged by anything in the field. Probably because he made no effort yet.

Load complete. Welcome to The World. A white light washed Echo as he warped into the Delta Field. It was his first time in a field. After all, he had spent most of his time introducing himself to Mac Anu and its various shops. Though he hadn’t made much progress in the way of befriending people, he had already been getting a general idea of the various types of players. There were those who were more guild-centric, there were others who wished to help newbies and even those who focused intently on PKing. Finally there were others like him. Those that enjoyed playing the game, no matter the difficulty, they took it in stride and tried their best all while maintaining a smile. That is what led him to spawning in Δ Forgotten Flow Blaze. He spawned in quickly, surprised immediately by the overbearing heat. He hadn’t expected that. Of course, why hadn’t he? With the graphics as realistic as they were, why couldn’t other things be realistic too? ”Sheesh…” He muttered, wiping sweat from his forehead as he looked around. The red glare of the fire almost matched Echo’s cloak, which he was beginning to regret wearing. Even still, this was where he chose to begin, and so he would do so. Turning his head, he saw the water of a small stream. That was where he saw another player in the water. He hesitated a moment before approaching. ”Hey!” He said, grinning. k2 was silently enjoying the flickering flames and the cold stream water. His eyes were watering from staring at the fire for too long, or maybe because of the light smoke that enveloped the forest, but he continued to stare off into space. Until he heard a mutter, which made him turn his head to awake him from his daze. He met eyes with another player who had entered the field, and he was called before he got a chance to speak. k2 ran his eyes over the man before him. Everyone in this game had a different sense of style, and it was apparent on the selection of clothes that the characters were adorned with.
Little red riding hood over here, almost naked over there. "Hi there," the taller man called back. k2 still had his bamboo staff out, but he held it in his left hand and used his right to push himself out of the water. While he had soaked his pants by sitting, it would be a matter of minutes before they were dried. Gotta love that heat. k2 stretched his arms into the air as he also approached the player who was approaching him. He couldn't help but notice Echo's grin, but he responded with a proud smile. A smile that a dad would give to a son after winning a game.
"Wuzzup. I'm k2."

Echo almost felt dwarfed by him. Then again, Echo was dwarfed by a lot of people, being as short as he was. He noticed the weapon that k2 had used to lift himself up. This called to mind the manual that Echo had read before starting The World. A weapon choice like that most probably meant k2 was a longarm. Though, Echo could never be sure. The fact that his smile was returned calmed Echo down a bit. Knowing that there were many people who would PK a person without a second thought, the fact that he hadn’t been attacked yet might say something for k2’s character. Hopefully he wasn’t one of those types. Though, from the looks of him, it was highly likely he liked battle. But that was, as before, just an assumption. Upon hearing his comrade speak, he didn’t hesitate to respond. ”The name’s Echo. I’m a heavyblade.” He said, pointing over his shoulder at the large sword strapped to his back almost perfectly horizontal. This only furthered Echo’s short appearance, but he ignored it. Grabbing at his cloak’s hood, he pulled it down, revealing his red hair and eyes. ”Nice to meet you. I take it you're here to do some training?”Indicating once more to the burning forest, he grins with an almost obvious sign of excitement. "I was about to start looking around myself. I figure I might as well test out my fighting abilities and such. Not to mention, I hear dungeons are always interesting."[/style][/td][td][STYLE=background-color: #f2f0f0; padding: 8px; border: 2px solid #7E7E7E; width: 150px; padding: 5px;][STYLE=width: 150px;][/style] [/IMG][/style] [STYLE=background-color: fbfafa; border: 2px solid #7E7E7E;width: 100px; padding: 7px;font-size: 10px;] Class: Heavyblade[/style] [STYLE=background-color: fbfafa; border: 2px solid #7E7E7E;width: 100px; padding: 7px;font-size: 10px;] Guild: N/A[/style] [STYLE=background-color: fbfafa; border: 2px solid #7E7E7E;width: 100px; padding: 7px;font-size: 10px;] Level: 1[/style] [/center][/td][/tr][/table][/style]

A short heavyblader. It made for an interesting appearance, especially with the large weapon strapped to the man. k2 wondered if the man could even lift the blade that he had. The game didn't calculate much beyond class in weapon wielding, but it allowed for characters such as this man to exist. Echo. As if k2 had forgotten a piece of information, he quickly spoke after Echo announced his name and class.
"I'm a Long Arm."
k2 had yet to try to train in this game, but he knew the mechanics well enough. Battle was something that wasn't foreign to him. He had played different games before, and he knew the battle system in this game was not very different from the battle systems in other games that he had played. The fact that the game worked off of some fatigue-styled system made it a more flexible and more interesting system than others. He kept his bamboo stick steady and nodded to the man when he removed his cloak and asked the question. k2 could use an experience in battle. It would be fun.
"Awesome. I'll send ya a party invite now." he finally got to say after Echo finished speaking. He looked around the area and wondered what they would encounter in the area. In a quick motion outside of the game, the player sent a party invitation to Echo. It could be fun. It would be fun.

It was almost creepy in a sense. Unmoving, still and unblinking. Not even the smile he once had remained. Of course, this was just Echo going through the process of accepting the party invite. He had also remembered this system, though he hadn’t really thought that he’d be partaking in it this early on. After accepting the invite, he returned to his pc. Echo blinked to life once more, his face returning to its goofy grin. ”A long arm. Cool.” Echo stated, noting that his earlier hunch had been correct after all. Having finished the introductions and the accepting of the invite, Echo didn’t hesitate to turn his figure towards the burning forest. ”Where better to start than there.” He pointed, indicating the very forest he was looking at. ”Hopefully we don’t get lost! Haha!” With that the heavyblader began walking off, his fast pace unhindered by the weight of his sword. Of course, he wasn’t trying to leave his new comrade behind, he was just looking forward to getting the adventure underway. He could hear his heart pound in his ears, easily overpowering the crackling of the fire. It could only be described as a mix of excitement and nervousness. Who knew what was awaiting them? k2 wasn't sure to make of Echo until the party invitation was accepted. To the burning forest they would go. He patted his slightly damp pants and nodded to the man. He chuckled when Echo spoke about getting lost. The worst that could happen is they would have to gate out to reset their position. But there had to be a dungeon in the burning field. k2 spun his bamboo stick around in his hands to get a feel for the movement of battle. He wasn't going to be perfect -- he knew this after he spun the weapon out of his hands -- but using abilities would help him organize himself during battle. As his teammate started to move, he followed.
The forest was in a healthy blaze as the two began to enter a zone where monsters would be able to attack. The crackling of the fire was the only sound in the area until a loud, bird screech was heard. It sounded throughout the forest, and it was loud enough to make the remaining leaves on the trees break away from their branches. As if the bird had sent a command, the fire started to spread throughout the forest. It was quick enough to cause a blaze of fire to light the area behind the two. Their escape had been sealed off.
From the trees, two Arc Princes would slide down them on their floating coffins. Flames danced on their fingertips, and they eyed the two adventurers with hostility. The battle would begin. A battle for survival.

However, before he had time to react. He pushed the thoughts of what the sound might have been caused by to the back of his mind. He was, after all, just beginning and who knows if such occurrences were common or not. Either way, he now stared down the approaching enemies. From the field, he knew they were Vak types. Being a completely Juk based fighter himself, it wasn’t impossible for him to win this fight. His eyes immediately went to the Arc Princes’ coffins. Hopefully it wouldn’t make them impossible to catch. It’d be pretty bad if Echo couldn’t even keep up. Though he was a tanky class, he lacked speed and defense. Obviously a faster opponent, who attacks repetitively, had the advantage. However, this was not going to deter Echo from the challenge. All these thoughts ran through his head in but a few moments after the two Arc Princes arrived. Following which, Echo hunched over, nearly to the point of touching the ground with his hands. This was most likely due to his arms being too short to draw the sword out above himself. Thus, he tilted it towards the left. He clenched his sword, Enigma, by the hilt tightly in his left hand and prepared to draw. "Looks like we already have some company." He laughed slightly. "Let’s do this then!"With a swift flurry of key pressing, Echo lunged forward, drawing his blade. The slash was horizontal, and directly aimed at the Arc Prince in front of him. Echo had considered using a skill, but had settled on using a normal attack. He didn’t want to expend too much of his energy when he had only just begun. k2 had also noticed the lack of an escape route. This field had intentions, and the intentions were not kind. With spiral-gray eyes, k2 watched the monsters as they moved into view. Monsters who floated on top of coffins. A strange enemy, but it did fit the fire field well. The monster manual had prepared k2 in terms of elemental weaknesses, and he would use those later on when higher leveled monsters would appear. For now, though, basic attacks would suffice to deal damage to the floating princes. In a quick step, k2 moved with Echo as he lunged. The direct horizontal slash would force k2 to jump into the air, but he was nimble enough to do so. As he sailed over the slash, k2 brought his bamboo stick down at the same prince's head. While this did leave one of the monsters unaccounted for, if they managed to kill one the battle would turn to their favor instantly.
The Arc Princes waited until their enemies would move in to attack. The Arc Prince who was aimed for attempted to float backwards on the coffin, but the blade of Echo intersected his torso. Instantly after, k2's attack would slam the monster in the head. The Arc Prince who had been attacked fell off of the coffin. However, he did manage to land on his feet. The monster was still alive, but he was unable to use any spells of his own.
However, the other Arc Prince had floated away while one of his brethren was under attack. Right after the other Arc Prince had fallen off of his coffin, this Arc Prince began to chant. The flames that danced on his fingertips grew in volume until it appeared that the flames were covering the prince's entire hand. In a quick swipe of his hand, the fire was flung off of his fingertips and formed into four small orbs. The orbs floated for a second before they flew through the air aimed at the two players who stood feet away: Vak Kruz.

Haha!” Echo chuckled as his comrade’s attack slammed into the monster. It was pretty clever of k2 to take advantage of the instant of weakness the Arc Prince had after taking a hit from Echo’s own attack. Needless to say, he was beginning to think that k2 was a skilled fighter. It was a good idea to party up with him after all. He grinned once more. If nothing else, the Arc Prince was beginning to wear. Plus, it was good to know that at least it was knocked off that coffin of its. However, Echo had nearly forgotten about the second enemy. It has took the moment of their attack to slip off somewhere. This was bad… After all, Echo’s attacks were all close ranged abilities and the Arc Prince was a user of Vak spells. Distance between him and the target was exactly what he didn’t need right now. However, his thoughts were soon realized as he saw a series of flame colored orbs moving towards the two. It was difficult to follow their movements as they moved back and forth in front of the burning backdrop. He focused his eyes and tried to prepare, but it was useless. Using the backdrop as a disguise, one of the orbs came crashing into him. It knocked him back a few feet, searing into him. He took a moment to regain his bearings, while noting his health having depleted somewhat. “Keh…” He coughed slightly. k2 let out a howl as his stick connected with the monster. He could feel the vibration in his hands from hitting the monster with a hollow weapon. He would be more motivated to attack the monsters because of this. He liked the vibration. What he didn't like was the fire orbs that had been sent at him and his party member. In a quick strafe, k2 evaded the first orb. The second one would slam into k2's chest, though, and send the six foot man a foot back. There was a singe which accompanied the attack. Thankfully, k2 had no chest hair to burn off. He looked at the Arc Prince who was now on his feet and gave a mad smile. Then, he dashed forward and let his weapon whip out as quick as possible. The woo from the stick being swinged whisted. k2 was not going to let the prince survive -- oh no.
As the flames licked the opponents, the Arc Prince who had flung them began to chant again. He stayed in the same position, still about five feet from the two players, but the flames around him could be seen growing with each and every word spoken. The fire would grow hot enough to cause the eyes to wince. However, no attack occured just yet. It seemed the prince was charging up for a stronger technique.
The other prince, who was coffin-less, was not as lucky as the first. While he managed to stumble a foot or two before coming to his senses, k2's weapon would slam the monster in the side. A loud crack could be heard as the data from the monster broke into two. The monster immediately turned into a gray ash-like substance and blew away with a small gust that accompanied his death. The coffin broke into two different pieces and also disintegrated into ash. One down, one to go. Would the duo be able to take out the other prince before he was able to finish his magic?

He was beginning to understand how people got so fired up when playing games like this. He was feeling it, himself. “I won’t let that happen again!” He smirked, obviously enjoying himself despite having been on the wrong end of that previous attack. However, his stubborn ways prevented him from concerning himself from such things. The only thing on his mind right now was beating the enemy. Alright, think… The enemy will likely use an attack similar to the last one as long as he is outside a certain range. Moreover, the maximum range in which they could go lied within the burning boundary around them. The opponent was only 5 feet away, and still while charging its attack. This was bad for Echo, however. His slow attack speed wouldn’t be enough to close in on the opponent even despite his decent range. However, a long arm has a better range than a heavyblade… Alright that might work. “Hey, k2…” He said, grinning. “I think I have an idea.” If he attacked now the opponent might not be able to cast its spell, plus it might very well set k2 up for an attack. Thus, without explaining further, he lunged forward and brought his sword down in a vertically downward slashing motion. This would hopefully lure the enemy to one of two escape routes: left or right. "Hehehahahahahaha!" k2 yelled as the monster broke into two different pieces on his attack. The ash effect was something that was new to the game, and it made k2 absolutely delighted. For level one monsters, these spellcasters were sturdy. k2 spun his weapon in his hand to see the monster that had been left alone. That monster was chanting incantations... and that couldn't be anything good. k2 noted that his teammate had taken the advantage to launch an attack, but k2 was too far as he had finished off the previous prince. Instead, the longarm readied his guard and began to close in on his other enemy. The spell was likely to be something a bit stronger, but k2 maintained a distance from his ally. If the spell was an area-of-effect type, he would not want to be ravaged as well. The heat from the field was bad enough. Adding even more fire elemental abilities would cook him. Especially since he wasn't highly defensive against magical abilities.
The prince continued to chant as Echo neared him. There was a strange smirk placed on the prince's face as the heavyblade's weapon cleaved into the monster to send him a few feet backwards. However, as the blade connected he finished his chanting. The flames in the area began to dance and form the face of a dragon. The infernal beast began to drag itself out of the flames, and it seemed the duo would continue to fight. The prince was wrecked by the single attack from the heavy blade, but he was not down and out. After he pushed himself up, he jumped onto his coffin and began to float away from the two. The fire dragon looked like a more formidable opponent. It was not something to be toyed with.
Monster added: Fire Dragon: Immune to standard physical melee attacks, spells and skills deal twice the amount of damage. Level 3.
