Personally, one of my favorite genre of video games is horror. Though I'm a fan of fantasy-based MMORPG's, I still love a good zombie slaughter-fest from time to time. I think what scares people the most is things jumping out at them, or maybe a lot of gore? There's some pretty creepy places in 'The World', so that makes me wonder if people have actually gotten freaked out before.
Alright, so my question is this; what scares you most in a video game?

Well, that, and ghosts are pretty dang scary in video games too, and in real life. ;-; What are these "creepy places" in The World you're talking about? ...I know, I'm a total sucker. I'm a wuss, but I wanna go to these creepy places anyway. x-x

'Creepy' more or less, as in those darkness element fields and dungeons. I haven't really been scared too badly by most monsters, but the areas give me the creeps after a while. Like when you're watching a scary movie and you sit in suspense, waiting and expecting something to happen, but it doesn't? Don't you get that jumpy feeling afterwards?
Staying too long in an eerie level kinda gets to me near the end, I guess. I was curious if perhaps I wasn't the only one who thought that way. I don't remember the keywords exactly, but there's this cathedral I once went to that I could have sworn was haunted or something. Maybe I was imagining it, but I wouldn't mind finding that place again sometime, just to check it out and see for sure.

That probably means Cathedral is the first or second keyword, since that denotes the type of environment you'll be in. But yeah...it is scary in the dark fields; like I said, I hate ghosts, and The World is no exception! As for Siege...I saw my dad playing that once. It looked so scary. ;-;

makejooasplode, I believe entire level was a cathedral. A huge, and really elaborate one.
As for Dead Space 2? Nah, think the only game that's scared me that bad or even close was a series called "Fatal Frame".
Don't like ghosts? That's the greatest ghost horror game I know about.

Not exactly. I didn't really discover the series until they became really rare nearly ten years later. By then tracking down the copies were a pain, but totally worth it in the end!

Sanitarium, basically you're a amensiac trapped in an asylum - it's the second level with the little children and blank eye sockets that gets you. Not so bad otherwise.
For PS3 probably Siren: Blood Curse and The Suffering.
Kept me up for a few nights all in all.
