since this is a .hack board, i thought it only to be customary to have a .hack survey of sorts, to get to know about you all!

who is your favorite character? do you have a reason why? which character got on your nerves?

my favorite character is probably subaru. i adore her character design, and she is so strong and kind, but soft-spoken. i also like ovan. he's hot. haha. rena and shugo got on my nerves... everything about lottb was annoying, except for ouka and balmung. they're pretty cool.

what is your favorite class? field? server?
i enjoy longarms, because i love scythes. but twinblades are neat too, because they are fast. i prefer speed over power, but heavyblades are bitchin' too... gah, .hack has so many good classes!

i definitely enjoy the theta server the best, especially dun lorieag. i can't wait to play there when it is available!

which game or anime series is your favorite? least favorite?
.hack//SIGN is probably my favorite. i have not seen roots or played GU, but i know enough about it... but still, SIGN is my favorite, i think. it should be a bit obvious which one is my least favorite, hehe.

Do I have a single favorite? No I do not. It's a four way tie between Haseo, Ouka, Balmung and Azure Kite. I don't have many reasons other than they're cool and I like them. WAIT! I do have a favorite. Piros the Third! As for characters that got on my nerves, none. I liked every .Hack character I've come across, even the ones that were meant to be annoying.

My favorite class would be Adept Rogue from the GU games. I loved how it let you have multiple jobs and weapon types. Favorite field? Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground. I love the cathedral. It's very peaceful there and I love the music. Favorite Server? Omega Server from the GU games cause that had the Arena.

Roots and the GU game series. I loved the story and all the characters. Least favorite? I can't say I have one cause I love all things .Hack.

I'd have to say Balmung of the Azure Sky. He is one badass motha. Not to mention he's a Blademaster, my favorite class. I'm not a big fan of Tsukasa though, he was annoying in the beginning few episodes of SIGN because he was so depressing or whatever. That at the story made me lose interest.

Blademaster all the way across the sky! I didn't really pay attention to the fields and servers in the anime or games, so idk.

which game or anime series is your favorite? least favorite?

I only really watched .hack//DUSK(Legend of the Twilight) all the way through, so probably my favorite because the story didn't make me lose interest. I think SIGN was my least favorite, or rather, not even considered a favorite at all. Didn't like it. ROOTS, though, was okay but never finished watching that either.

As for the GU games, never finished Part 1. Got stuck somewhere because I needed a third keyword to advance in the story but the only way to get it was to Data Drain certain monsters but it became tedious and I gave up.

Crim. I used him as a faceclaim for the very first RPG I was in. At the time, I had never even heard of the .hack series and had no idea who he was...I just thought he looked really cool. Turns out he was really, really cool. I love his personality and humor. He's awesome.

I guess Delta lol Don't really know others.

.hack//SIGN is my favorite series because it's what started all this; it's what got my into the series in the first place and I don't know much else.

i fell very much in love with kite, actually. he was just so sweet. :] i loved that he was a.. timid sort of hero. instead of the boisterous spiky-haired guy that's seen everywhere now (nothing against them and i like some of them but just saying). and lol blackrose got on my nerves a lot. she was more bearable in the japanese voice over, but man i was still just like "i want mia and elk, screw blackrose and mistral" through the whole game. mistral annoyed me almost as much as blackrose, but i wasn't forced to see her as often. loved mia and elk. ;] piros would get on my nerves, but then he would redeem himself with something that'd make me laugh. i could go on and talk about sign characters and g.u. characters, but.. i've already talked too much. :[

oh, i really liked gardenia, actually. she was such a soothing party member. loved exploring with her. :]

what is your favorite class? field? server?

from r:1, my favorite class is probably long arm or wave master. :] i like magic, and with long arms, i like that they're strong and still have some speed. my favorite field.. i don't know. ;w; i do like both delta and theta server. delta excites me with the idea of riding around the waterways on one of the canoes. it seems very soothing. i imagine that theta would be just gorgeous to see in real life, though. i never made it any further than that. :x

umm. i love .hack//infection. that's one game that can still scare me to this day. <<; without splattering blood all over my screen.

it's just got this.. eerie, ominous feeling about it. i feel like the mood of that game is kind of what .hack's all about.

my least favorite is probably roots, but i'm not quick to say that because i didn't see much of roots at all. i liked g.u. i didn't care for roots, though, from what i saw. ;w; so yeah. bam

I'd have to say Crim as well...just his overall disposition and comic relief made me love him and he is a badass in his own right. I also liked Sora...for his manic and almost nonsensical nature; plus his RL counterpart was a fifth grader.

For class I'd have to say WaveMaster but other classes seem awesome too. And, the pretty ones.

.hack//SIGN for sure...I remember renting it when it first came out; it was one of the staple series although I haven't delved into the .hack fandom after SIGN, I am familiar with other series in the franchise, but not enough to play favorites.

What I remember.. My favorite is Crim/Krim. He idealized what a hero should be, without all the cliche attributes. What I liked most about him is that, like every single character, the game was a personification of his true self. He was a leader, someone who rode into battle without hesitation (favorite scene in .hack//Sign), and he had someone there to protect. His outfit was a symbolization of how badass he was: showing the abs, hair that was outrageous, and the red color just stood out in comparison from the other characters.

No characters got on my nerves.

My favorite class is Heavy Blade. I enjoy the mental image of swinging a large sword across your shoulders, and walking away from destroyed terrain like a cocky, bastard. It just seems like an oxymoron; running into battle, expecting to live while wielding something heavier than you are.

I don't have a favorite field. I enjoy reading/viewing them and creating various scenarios. The more elaborate, the more fun I have RPing in them, but sometimes simple is better.

My favorite server is Delta because it has to do with water.

.hack//Sign is the only series of .hack that I ever truly finished, so it's a lack of choice that brings me to this. At the same time, I doubt there would be much competition. The first time I saw this show, my mind was blown. Literally blown. I had never understood things like accepting emotions as an appeal to other people, and through Tsukasa's troubles, it circumvented into the plot while affecting everyone else. It really turned my life around, and it made me accept how I loved to dream up stories of adventures and whatnot. I always thought life was like a one streak, that I had no choice when things went awful to worse. But right around then I realized I could decide for myself on what I could do. So it got me into RPing.

My least favorite is .hack//Legend of the Twilight. I mean, it was too lighthearted compared to its predecessor. The subject matter that it divulged in was nothing compared to the previous entry. From the Anime that made it way too colorful, to the stark contrast in song choice that was probably geared towards children, to the awkward "sexual" moments in the manga where now many, many Japanese shows are now at fault for. There's such a thing as the "right amount" that might make sense to people who are interested in it, and then there's .. that.

It is hard for me to pick which character is my absolute favorite. From .hack//sign I liked Helba because she was just plain awesome. She is a great hacker and smart. I like people who are smart so I'm not surprised as to why I liked her character a lot. Plus the person who did her dub voice over fit pretty well with Helba's character. So that's a plus. I also loved Elk.

In .hack//G.U. I liked Endrance, Atoli and Haseo. There were others like Kite, Sora and Ovan. Those were the main ones that caught my attention.

The one character that got on my nerves would have to be Blackrose. Don't get me wrong I did like her to some extend but she sometimes got on my nerves.

I would have to say I leaned more towards twinblades. I don't know why but the class was just interesting to me. They are more balanced than the other races so they're full of win.

As to the field I loved, loved the place Hidden Forbidden Holy Ground. It had that creepy feeling but it was beautiful and had soothing music. XD And for the sever I liked Mac Anu the most. The atmosphere was very calming and the background music was nice.

I have to say I liked all of the games and anime series. They all had a story of their own and its characters. I liked them all. Having played all of the .hack games just makes me love the whole .hack theme even more. I always have the feeling to want to play the games again just for the heck of it. That's how much I love the series and seeing people create rp boards about the .hack world is just as awesome. But sadly not many people are that active. Anyway, getting off topic here. Like I said I have no least favorites. XDDDD

what .hack music did you like?
Just to name a few ( since i have so many ), I love obsession, fake wings, limilality, a thousand and one nights and edge.

if you could play .hack using the same technology as the .hack characters have, what character would you make?
I think I would make either a twinblade or a heavyblade. :3

overall, i don't really have a 'favourite' character since each person had their moments in the game, at least in GU. the person who got on my nerves, however, was blackrose in //INFECTION -- idk, she was too pushy for me. and sakaki from GU -- i hated that damn aida <victorian>.

i like adept rogue mainly for its versatility even though the class' growth kinda depends on the jobs your pick. well, flick reaper is nice too simply because i'm partial to scythes and it's area-based damage so it's easier to hit multiple enemies. as for field, hrm, i have no favourite (not counting the holy grounds, lol) and server-wise i like breg epona from GU for the futuristic feeling.

i can't say anything regarding the shows since i haven't watched any. for games i'm partial to GU since i never finished the original series. /only beat infection. in the GU stream i liked redemption best since all three jobs are 'unlocked', so to speak, and i disliked reminisce since, really, i hated trying to level up the edge punisher weapon.

what .hack music did you like?

hrm, kinda hard to say. i like, well, mostly the sound tracks from the game like hulle granz cathedral, the desktop theme, opening loop (for GU, vol.01 + 03), and etc. i liked some of yuki kajiura's stuff too.

if you could play .hack using the same technology as the .hack characters have, what character would you make?

adept rogue or flick reaper if the game went by GU standards, or if they included its elements. if it's just R1 well, i'd make a blademaster or twinblade.

who is your favorite character? do you have a reason why? which character got on your nerves?

My favorite character was Alkaid. She was stunning, luscious, feral, and always carried a sense of strength and gorgeous skill about her. She always went about stuff with determination and I enjoyed playing with her while I had the chance. I was pretty sad when I was suddenly deprived of her and she was pretty much killed off in the game.

Atoli was the most annoying character ever. I don't even wanna get into why.

Favorite class? Probably Long Arm. Underrated, powerful at the same time, and well-balanced. I don't have a preferred field or server since they were all pretty awesome.

which game or anime series is your favorite? least favorite?

G.U was more playable but I did enjoy the story of the original World just atad more.

From R:1 Kite, Because I could ideally agree with him, and he did the right thing, like I wanted as a kid. ><

R:2 It's Either Alkaid, or Haseo They were the most honest and raw with their feelings, which makes me respect them.

which character got on your nerves?
R:1 = Piros: I found him to be a complete waste of a spot in parties.
R:2 = Atoli/Sakaki: Although I found her to be helpful, her weakness in Sakaki was annoying and the fact that a 10 year old was freaking controlling a game was stupid.

what is your favorite class?
R:1 Twin Blade, They had the most variability and most fun.
R:2 Adept Rouge: It was the Jack of All Trades that's cool.

Who is your favorite character? Do you have a reason why? Which character got on your nerves?

Having mostly played the //G.U. games, I personally took a liking to Haseo and not because he's the protagonist. His generally abrasive personality never seemed to fit in with the more optimistic and upbeat characters during the first installment, and he ends up mellowing out over the course of the games. Plus, his outfits are delicious. =3=

Also Gaspard. Because he's too cute. <3

Adept Rogue, natch. Their versatility sets them apart from other classes, but the fact that they're a harder class to play gives them an added challenge; something I actually like when it comes to class-based RPGs. As for Server, Delta, because I love the fact that it's eternally bathed in twilight and that it looks so pretty. oTTo

Again, I mostly know of .hack through the //G.U. series, so it's hard for me to say which is my least favorite of the bunch. Plus, haven't watched //SIGN yet. I own it, but it's like some cheap Vietnamese bootleg with really REALLY bad subtitles. >8|
