Δ FORGOTTEN FLOW LIVE A long-forsaken underground city, once flooded and it's inhabitants long-gone. This mysterious world has grown beautiful in the passing years, with strange transparent plant-life slowly engulfing the cavern interior. The grounds shimmer like glass, with swarms of glowing azure fireflies blissfully floating by. Beams of light fall across the landscape through the cracks in the cavern ceiling, in an entrancing perpetual twilight. There are rumors of a silver-haired dog monster that appears in the area in rare chances, but most players have yet to discover this for themselves. This tall underground paradise may seem nothing more than a sad broken kingdom, but many unknown dangers lay hidden within it's unsettling cold depths.

There was something marvelous to be found in the world, something to offer for every player, something different that struck a note to each of the game's inhabitants. Some say it's the social aspect that draws in so many people, or perhaps the thrill of fighting alongside friends and colleagues against dangerous monsters. What if it's simply about the game's open space itself? These seamless landscapes filled with beautifully rendered graphics, slapped over hexagonal patterns then brought to life with sound effect loops and background music.
What if these players simply seek out these lands in search of freedom? A vast expanse they may come to call their own? A plain of cyberspace where they may take up any masks they choose, create a new life for themselves and become whoever they wish. Is it freedom they're really after? Is it power? Do so many people crave the excitement and pride that comes with killing the weak or defeating the strong? It is all these things, and so much more. Each player is different in nature, but each of them share the same love for this immensely popular video game.
A gentle 'whirr' sound filled the still air, the subtle chime of a player-character warping into the field was quickly met with a charming drumroll. The background music loop had begun, the wonderful tune ushering the blademaster to begin his adventure in this new-found area. The young man's piercing red gaze scanned his surroundings without delay, a devilish smirk lit the avatar's features as the music picked up in pace. As the player seemed almost bewildered by the fantastic world he'd entered, the attention finally was brought back to the task at hand.
This blademaster wasn't looking for anything in particular, and aside from a quiet 'tsk' sound that followed his grin, he seemed to enjoy the lonesome atmosphere. As he stood idle, his character shrugged and rolled his shoulders, the quiet clinking of light armor and his held sword still sheathed in his clutches. This place seemed more peaceful than dangerous at first glance, but these tall crumbling structures told a devastating history; life that had once been was snatched away so easily. At least, that's what the lore explained.
Without further ado, the young man began his steady advance past the tall ruins surrounding the enclosure; the small splashes from running across the shallow lakebed beneath him echoed throughout the grand alcove. Upon meeting the stairway just a few dozen feet away, there was another sound that threw the player's guard up. It seemed he wasn't alone after all; not today.

A long day of studies and mental exhaustion had Thrym itching for battle, the wavemaster poised outside the ever-spinning chaos gate as he pondered his choices. Perhaps he could pick a low-level dungeon to explore, or perhaps he could turn back and see what nonsense he could start in root town. It was indeed a difficult decision, but finally a decision was reached: He stepped up to the gate and muttered his chosen destination.
Δ FORGOTTEN FLOW LIVE
loading. please wait.
The world blurred around him, rings spinning with a soft hum as the dank recesses of the field he had chosen slowly materialized. It had a certain beauty to it, as did ever aspect of the world; a long-dead city overrun with plant life and creeping vines. Gossamer veils of half-light reached through the ceiling, and Thrym found himself staring for longer than he might have liked -- he shook his head and crept forward, sloshing through the standing puddles that carpeted the chamber like great, sprawling mirrors. (He almost felt bad for disturbing them, and watched, mesmerized, as ripples fanned out from every footstep.
Not two minutes into his exploration, the telltale light of a spawning creature caught his attention -- he looked up from the dilapidated bookshelf he had been pawing through, staff in hand. It was nothing more than a trio of monkey crabs, but Thrym was still low-leveled himself... and the creatures were surprisingly fast.
And this was how Thrym came to find himself sprinting through a high-vaulted corridor, throwing wave after wave of thunder magic behind him to ensure him enough time to heal. "I really should invest in some heavier defenses," he muttered darkly to himself, finishing the last monster off with a Rai Kruz. Glowing dimly red, he drew his staff close and cast a Repth over himself, sighing with relief. 'Yes,' he pondered, 'Some idiot tank to enter dungeons for me. He can take all the damage, and I'll take all the loot.'
Risking running into a stronger beast, the wavemaster decided to continue on -- there were still places to do, after all; still things to see and treasure to find. He paced back towards the entrance with light steps, Dreyrugr held out before him as though he were a longarm -- he snorted at the thought --
And he tripped.
With an echoing splash and a surprised string of curses, he threw his gaze back to glare at the offending rock. He wagged his staff at it for good measure, silently threatening it with eternal damnation, and then found that rolling while in "water" created a rather amusing effect. Splashing about like a young child who had never before experienced such a thing -- which, in essence, he was, having yet to do this in the world -- he rolled around a corner and found himself looking up at a strange blademaster.
Giggling immediately stifled, he summoned his best stony-faced glare (still flat on his back in the puddle, mind you) and jabbed his staff in the other's general direction. "Mm, and what are you doing here?"

[STYLE=margin: 70px 30px 30px 30px; text-align: justify; color: #c4c4c4;font-size: 10px;] orchid was reminded of the reason why she enjoyed [ the world ] as much as she did every time she found herself exploring a field; it was simply mind boggling how varied they could be. she would have wondered about the extensive coding it would have taken to formulate such a system of randomization -- but, that would completely ruin the fantasy of the game. orchid played [ the world ] partly because she did like the idea of becoming orchid; she liked that she could start life anew, in a sense. she didn't participate in this online game only for the levels, or the quests, or the gold; she participated for the experience. she loved every thing about it, honestly. her thin bones would shiver and shake out of amazement, whenever she truly took a moment to just pause for a moment and.. enjoy where she was, and what was happening.
she strung together a collection of keywords that she had found in her mail box that morning; being a guild master, players often would send orchid areas to examine, asking questions about them as though she had already explored every nook and cranny the game had to offer. this one seemed particularly interesting; that is, it caught her eye amongst most of the rest that she had been skimming through. mainly because of the lore behind the area, as well as the mentioned "silver-haired dog monster." rare creatures like these tended to offer a lump sum of experience, and provided impressive challenges as well. she was out on a hunt at this point; she wanted to slay this canine predator.
she had actually arrived not long before thyrm had -- and in fact, she was aware that the wave master was who he was; that is, she was aware that a member of her guild was finding himself troubled by a group of monsters. honestly, she couldn't really be bothered to assist him when it seemed so much more entertaining to watch him struggle instead. from her position -- perched atop a broken but still vertically upright pillar -- she had a bird's eye view on the initial area. that is, she could see thyrm, and she noticed that vii had gated in as well. the deeper portion of the dungeon was less known, primarily because this area wasn't wide open like the average field.
getting the impression that it was time for her to continue along her way, orchid grasped the pillar and expertly slid down the side of it. once she had reached a position on it that was not too slow nor too high, she kicked her feet against the stone as a means of shooting herself off of it. becoming a flying projectile, the demonic long arm twisted herself in mid-air, and landed in front of the stairs with minimal noise -- though she was forced to stick her landing using both her legs and arms, and therefore one leg was extended outward. pushing herself upwards into a standing position, she curiously gazed into the blackness just beyond the stairs. that was where she needed to go.
glancing behind herself, she assumed that at this point someone had been alerted to her presence. [/style] | template by pianissimo of btn and ote |

Then again, given the circumstances of this game and it's different worlds, VII could empathize with the stranger to a degree. His smirk faded upon seeing the wavemaster laying on the floor, looking up at him an in almost comical seriousness. What the hell was he doing anyway? Though curiously enough, VII paused after a passing thought to ignore him, and just offered up a coy answer.
"I think I'm the one who should be asking that," He began, a little puzzled, but with a far less apathetic tone than the wavemaster. "Then again, I'm not too sure I want to know. 'Cause I'm not the one who's flailing around on the floor." This situation in retrospect was laughable, sure, but before VII was so much as given the chance to crack a smile, a sudden noise caught the blademaster's attention just a few dozen feet away. There was another player that appeared, a blur at the corner of his vision alerted the swordsman to a younger guest on the scene.
She was turned away, whom seemingly had appeared from nowhere, and said nothing but turned upon realizing she'd been spotted. Classy entrance. Did she think herself myserious? Or was she only interested in sneaking past but failed to do so? Regardless of her reasoning, there she stood, for both the rediculous wavemaster and the cautious blademaster to witness. The thought quickly crossed VII's mind that they could have planned to arrive at this point simultaneously, perhaps as allies or enemies, or even partners in crime. It wouldn't be the first time the young rogue had been cornered by players working together, but even if that weren't the case he couldn't help but think it to be true.
"I don't suppose you're here for the sights, are you mr. puddles?" Turning his field of vision to just barely meet the wavemaster behind him, then after a few seconds his gaze shifted to the woman further away. Without reaching for the sheathed blade in his other hand, VII's bloody red eyes carefully watched the woman standing across from him, while paying some mind to the wavemaster still behind him just as a precaution. "What about you, redhead? What brings you to such a pretty little hangout?"

"Ah," Thrym replied, eyes narrowed in a mockery of deep thought as he contemplated VII's response. "And who are you to judge me, who lays on the floor, hm? Perhaps I should judge you for standing up." He squinted up at the blademaster and opened his mouth to comment the other player on his avatar, but, predictably, something interrupted him.
Climbing gracefully to his feet, Thrym peered out over VII's shoulder, catching sight of Orchid with a cold, toothy smile. Flashy, as always, but he hardly minded: He waved at her with a single hand, fingers waggling as his grin broadened. Instead of greeting her further or rushing to her side, however, he decided VII was the more interesting inhabitant of this dungeon (so far), and he sidled up to the blademaster's side with light steps.
"My name is Thrym," he whispered into VII's ear, leaning purposefully too close and moving to place an arm around his shoulder, "But you can call me whatever you like."
Ignoring his comment to Orchid -- she would start insulting one or the both of them soon enough; no reason to further fuel the flames -- Thrym pressed himself yet closer to VII. "Sightseeing? I quite like what I see already. Don't you?" He leaned back and intently gazed into VII's eyes, running his hand up and down his staff in a decidedly obscene manner.
And then, as though none of that had happened, he snapped his eyes back to Orchid and winked. "I hear there's a rare monster in this field," he stated, casually, still standing far too close to his new "friend".

[STYLE=margin: 70px 30px 30px 30px; text-align: justify; color: #c4c4c4;font-size: 10px;] well, orchid definitely called it -- someone did, in fact, become aware that she was also in the area. one could only be so sneaky, after all. the blade master was the one who initially noticed her; not completely surprising to orchid as she didn't really consider thyrm to be the most observant character around. it was a rather silly question, though -- what brought her to this area? clearly, it was a field -- a dungeon, even. there were monsters. players needed to battle monsters in order to level up. orchid was here for a very obvious reason, she thought.
"is that a trick question?" she inquired with a particularly nasty attitude, now turning to face the two. it was here that she noticed that thyrm was playing his usual game of being a disgusting flirt to every male player character that came his way. she sometimes had a difficult time understanding the wave master; she wondered if this was simply his angle. if he just.. did this to get on someone's good side, or just to bother them overall. orchid didn't really know what to think about it. but she watched as he effortlessly inched his way into the blade master's personal space, much like a snake approaching a lone mouse with the intentions of having that rodent for dinner. he whispered apparently seductive words into the male's ear and was just trying a little too hard for orchid's taste.
"i suppose i had better get used to this. seeing thyrm stay true to his whoreish character." she hissed, not being one to really sugar coat anything. when she had something to say, she definitely said it, so thyrm was correct in anticipating that she would have been "insulting" someone soon enough. though, orchid didn't really think of it as insults, per say; she felt that she just spoke without a filter. she didn't care about being politically correct or even particularly nice to anyone. especially not in an online game.
"anyway. i'm orchid. i believe i am actually hunting for that mentioned rare monster," orchid stated, back-tracking to vii's earlier question. she tugged at the choker around her neck, glancing around the area out of a general habit of being a naturally observant kind of person. orchid cringed at thyrm's shameless and vulgar way of "flirting." she didn't really consider it flirting or being seductive; she considered it obscene. it was extremely annoying and if she paid too much attention to it it might have given her a headache.
"hopefully the two of you are the only one's in this area. if so, i wish you the best in your.. mm. vulgarities. please continue to be sexually suggestive as i leave to kill the "silver-haired dog monster" that apparently no one has yet to discover." with a nod, she turned away from that disease-inducing scene and began to journey up the stairs that were now in front of her. A rare monsters here, in this area? Judging by the lore surrounding the field's backstory, it wouldn't exactly be much of a surprise to see something like that in a place like this. A 'silver-haired dog monster' would fit in well here, and what if the rumors were true? Would the beast offer some cool rare items or a load of experience? Those possibilities were more than enough to entice any player to go searching for it, even if just for the bragging rights.
Guess he wouldn't be the only one looking for it today. It seemed like there was a strange contrast between the two players now, one the whimsical wavemaster who seemed strangely interested in VII--the other a longarm with a sharp tongue. Yeah, strange players indeed. VII wasn't exactly ordinary himself, though he preferred it this way; normalcy was overrated. The wavemaster commented before getting up from the floor, his PC getting awfully cozy next to VII all the while. A nasty shiver was sent up the blademaster's spine, while his character stood completely frozen with a confused look written across his features.
'W-wha?' What the hell was with this guy? VII wasn't sure if he was particularly dangerous or not, but before he could decide if he should back away or attack either of them, Orchid piped up over Thrym.Though they seemed so different, the two players were here both looking for the same thing. Smirking then, VII looked over to the longarm with a stern confidence. "The name's Seven," Turning his head to the side slightly, his gaze sharply diverting to try and catch Thrym in his field of view, the blademaster continued.
"I can guess where this is going, want to party up? Seems like we're all here for the same purpose after all." Without noticing though, Orchid had already started off into the dungeon and left them two behind. "Eh! Hey, w-wait!" VII spat, a little freaked by the player's disregard. VII jumped ahead a few steps, turning back to Thrym and waving his arm confusingly. "I guess we should follow her?" Caught off guard a little, the blademaster watched the wavemaster for a moment, then offering his player address if the player intended to join his party or not.
