This was all so very strange, but Noah would rather have been traversing some strange virtual world than finishing his calculus homework. He had done some research, at least, so when he had heard about a grunty giveaway . . . well, he wasn't going to pass up the opportunity. It wasn't every day you got a free grunty (he was pretty sure, anyway), and it would have been a great way to start his The World experience. He gated in and walked the distance. Hopefully, he was going the right way.
"What a strange sight," Gabriel muttered to himself, stopping when his eyes fell upon the destination: a grunty ranch, where boasted plenty of colourful creatures that could hardly compare to anything earthly. This had to be the destination. Unsure of what to expect, Gabriel carefully approached.
"Hello?" he called out, leaning on his staff and looking around. Surely free didn't mean "take as many as you'd like while we aren't watching." Then again, he was probably missing some big picture here; he wasn't exactly the most observant person.

"Why hello there!" Called out a seasoned voice.
The source of the voice was an old man, standing on a porch, half bent over with a pip in his mouth and leaning against a cane. It wasn't a player but in fact the NPC for this month's Grunty Giveaway event! It was Ol' Farmer Grunt, owner of the fine establishment. He was wearing baggy clothes and blue overalls, looking the part of a farmer.
"What can I do for ye?" He inquired.

"Why hello there!"
Gabriel immediately turned toward the source of the voice -- some old man with a cane. How productive. The seventeen-year-old remained rooted in place, not wanting to disturb the strange (yet strangely beautiful) creatures that remained beyond. This was all so new to him, and he wasn't sure if he should be terrified or excited. He almost forgot that he was in a video game. "What can I do for you?" he repeated in his head, carefully watching the old man. Was the giveaway a secret?
"Um, I heard there's some grunty giveaway going on," Gabriel called out. "I'm here for mine."
